New Year 2006 Breakfast Run

For some reason I took on the responsibility of organizing this fun run because I didn't make it to the Christmas Eve run.  I got up too early and fell back asleep and woke too late to catch up.  JR mentioned that there were talks of a New Year's Eve run again and made sure to make it.

I posted this event but hardly had any response (except for our ever passionate ExPrez ChitoF).  So I decided to text everyone including non-members - that was definitely over 150 text invites sent.

Assembly time was 6:30am at Petron SLEX but got there an hour before in case some early birds might show up.  ChitoF was the first one to arrive then followed by Atty. Rey Bulay (prospective member) with a black miata conservatively equipped mags, front and rear chin spoilers.  Rey is joined by his wife and son who is very enthusiastic about cars as inspired by countless hours of PS2 sessions.

Others began arriving:

    - Bubi and Luis Camus on board their face lifted miata to look like an S2000

    - Tristan and his wife - RED M1

    - Mon and Paolo - BRG

    - Dante Reyes - first time to join a fun run - BRG Miata

All in all we were 6 Miatas and 1 S2000.

We took off around 7:05am, ChitoF lead the pack and I volunteered to be the last man to guide the first timers.  We took Ayala Greenfields exit which is after Sta. Rosa.  Nice route.  My first time obviously...  Although the road was ours Chito didn't go too fast for the benefit of not scaring the first timers.  We ended up having our breakfast at Pancake House.  We wanted the balcony section but was closed off  because the "aircon" wasn't working as someone had joked about...  While having breakfast, Joe Lao arrives.  He was supposed to play golf but then decided to be part of this run instead... I took a group picture while were all at the table.  I'll post it when I get home... After eating some stayed to chat at the table while others went to closed off balcony to enjoy the view.

We left about 10am.  Joe Lao headed the pack.  We took the old carmona route (via Silang) to avoid the congestion build up at the marketplace of Sta. Rosa.

While cruising at average speeds down Aguinaldo Hi-way, getting a bit sleepy from the heavy breakfast, a red SiR zooms and passes us.  The racing bug's voice tells me to chase it so I did.  With enough adrenaline pumping in my system I'm awake again.  I stopped at the Silang exit to wait for the others...   That was the reason Mon...

The highlight for me was the drive on SLEX.  After entering the express way, Joe decides to gun it.  I followed.  Mon couldn't resist and follows too...

To all who supported this fun run... thanks...  =)
