MIATA CLUB PHILIPPINES
MONTHLY CLUB MEETING/TRACK VISIT
APRIL 11, 2010 Sunday
Held at the C! Restaurant , Clark, Pampanga
by CHITO Frondoso

![]() ![]() we assembled at our usual Caltex Station at the corner of Julio Vargas and Meralco avenue at 620am and promptly took off at 630am. Traffic was very light and driving was smooth and easy. ![]()
![]() we arrived at PETRON LAKESHORE at the NLEX at around 720am and many other members were already there. Most took a hearty breakfast at MOCHA BLENDS while i and few others tried out this Filipino buffet breakast for a real bargain at only Php 150. ![]() ![]() CONVOY-TURNED-FUNRUN to CLARK SPEEDWAY ![]() We left at about 845am after breakfast at MOCHA BLENDS. . What was meant to be a simple convoy turned out to be a FUNRUN NORMAN and I were leading the pack to go enter SCTEX and head towards SUBIC and look out for CLARK exit and NOT to exit CLARK SOUTH. But SEAN turned towards TARLAC and we frantically radioed him that he had made a mistake. So we tell him the rest of us will go ahead and just wait for them to turn around and go back. ![]() So NORMAN and I proceed and see the first exit that says CLARK SOUTH. NORMAN radios me and says this is not the one..... and so we both confidently look out for the CLARK exit. Several kilometers pass and we see a sign that says the next exit is PORAC!!!! HAHA.... NORMAN and I were wrong, and we felt so silly that we had about 10 cars behind us and all of us going the wrong way. SEAN was right after all. Well we exit at PORAC and immediately entered SCTEX again. This time we knew we had to head towards Tarlac and exit at CLARK EXIT, and not CLARK SOUTH. Of course we found our way... the loooong way to the track. Sorry guys.. NORMAN and I were misinformed. ![]() TRACK VISIT ![]() We get to the track in no time and we could see that many were already making laps and having a grand time. ![]() ![]() RENE MAPUA immediately herds us to give us a quick briefing on track rules and safety guidlines. He explains the different color flags and their meanings. Most of the flags were warning flags which can mean anything from a simple " CAUTION - slow down" to as critical as "DANGER AHEAD- stop and pull over" But the "GOOD NEWS" flag was the black and white checkered flag. This flag means that the "race" is over, and its TIME TO EAT LUNCH. By 11am, somebody starts waving the checkered flag, and lunch was next in the agenda. ![]() ![]() ![]() LUNCH MEETING ![]() We proceeded to C! restaurant via convoy. After everyone got seated and settled, President NORMAN called the meeting to order. REY led the prayer thanking the almighty for the safe drive, clear weather, and the wonderful fellowship. We had a very long table for all the MCP , and a special table for the mom and dad of President Norman. Joining her was Norman's dad and Norman's two lovely daughters, and of course,Norman's inspiration who is none other than CLAIRE. ![]() Everyone had a chance to order and taste the specialty of the house , which is PANIZZA, which is a very thin crust pizza cut into two-inch strips, then rolled into a short "lumpia" stuffed with alfalfa sprouts and lots of crispy green lettuce. After seeing RENE ordered the rib eye specialty, and KEITH, COLLINS, MIKE and I, couldnt resist ordering one for the four of us. The meeting was short, but everyone had a chance to sing to NORMAN's loving mother who celebrated her 77th birthday,. We also made sure we greeted our APRIL celebrants : NOMER Tigue and DANNY Sadian. SEAN Paler was able to distribute the AAP membership cards. CHITO Frondoso distributed the souvenirs from the recently held BB PILIPINAS event. After everyone had taken their lunch, and had their coffees, NORMAN adjourned the meeting with everyone leaving with a big smile for a wonderful MIATA DAY. SPECIAL THANKS to the following LIST OF PARTICIPANTS/ATTENDEES 1. CAMERA GROUP - KEITH, COLLINS, JERIC, EARL
