With us of course was our master photographer KEITH Sundiang. Also there was STANLEY Gobing whose dad displayed his beautifully restored bright red 64 Corvette.
We assembled at Pancake house at Rockwell at 8am. Afterr breakfast, we convoyed to the World Trade Center at 930am to be in time for the 10AM official opening of the auto show. Welcoming us was Mr Alvin Uy, from the organizing committee. Cutting the ribbon was no less that the DOTC Secretary Mendoza. Gracing the occassion were the four Bb Pilipinas 2009 winners plus the first runner up, all of whom were delighted to see the Miataclub members again. The BB Pilipinas 2005 winner also arrived shortly after.

We were planning to eat out for lunch but KEITH's school bus was color coded so we ended up at the cafeteria right by the exhibit. It was catered by Makati Skyline so it was not too bad at all .
MARVIN, RONALD and I stayed on in the afternoon to watch Russ Swift, the world famous precision driver. This year the stunt show was hosted by popular James Deakin. It never ceases to amaze the crowd when Russ shows off his parallel parking stunt. Russ can squeeze into a very tight parking spot in quick sliding and screeching motion. His record is his ability to get into a parking slot only 33 cms longer than the car. Russ can get in so easily, but he is still trying to figure out how to get out of it.
It was indeed a great car show as the pictures show. The Miata Camera Club was so busy taking pictures of the beautiful and sexy models, it's amazing that they found time to take pictures of the many high performance cars.
Thanks again guys, for supporting the club. When I asked for volunteers, only 8 guys originally signed up and then two guys backed out a day before the event. Am thankful VEN and COLLINS helped me out in getting more guys to represent the club. PIERCE Mendoza even called me at 7am from Pampanga to tell me he was ready to drive down to Manila in case I desperately needed one more Miata. Thanks PIERCE! Special thanks to NORMAN Castillo who sent his Miata ahead to be in time for the formal opening of the show.
